Anthony Harrison's first illustrated magazine feature was published in 1980, but he had been taking photographs since the age of 12, when his father gave him his old Zeiss Nettar. It was a primitive camera, but an ideal teaching tool that helped him acquire all the skills necessary to shoot professionally. Using film proved an excellent preparation for the digitisation of photography and he managed the transition smoothly. The specialised high-resolution digital equipment he now uses produces better quality images than the complex medium and large format film kit he had previously used. The lighting skills he learned years ago are still applicable.
As a writer and photographer he has covered a variety of subject matter, but in the past 15 years he has firmly established himself as an interiors specialist. He offers complete home-interiors feature packages which have been published in leading UK home-interest magazines including 25 Beautiful Homes, Period Living, Ideal Home – plus major newspapers such as The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times, and The Mail On Sunday. "I've shot beautiful homes from Wales to Ibiza, from London to Frankfurt, from Scotland to Morocco", explains Anthony, who has a university degree and also works for commercial and advertising clients. Many of his commissions are related to the building environment.
